๐ฆ Six Weeks Before the Move
- Order Packing Supplies: Start gathering packing materials: boxes, packing paper, bubble wrap, tape, and markers. Possibly protective corners, fillers. Read the full packing guide for more information.
- Start Packing Non-Essential Items: The first things you should pack first are things you rarely use (logically). Seasonal clothes, books, decor items, etc.
- Label Your Boxes: Label each box! Identify the contents and then the room to which it belongs.
- Change Your Address: Submit a change of address form to the post office. This will ensure that mail is delivered to your new home.

- Notify Important Parties: You must inform your bank, insurance provider, and other relevant entities about your upcoming move.
- Arrange Utility Transfers: Don't forget to disconnect services at your old home! This includes water, electricity, gas, internet, and cable.
- Plan for Pets: Pets? Moving with them requires a special approach. Prepare for the move by researching online or consulting a veterinarian to make the move comfortable for them.
- Pack Room by Room: Start packing one room at a time. Yeah, it's better to start now. Start with the pantry, end with your living space.
