Starting a new chapter in Philadelphia? WellKnown Moving Company makes the long-distance move from DC to Philly simple, fast, and stress-free. With offices in both Washington, DC and Philadelphia, our licensed and insured crews are always ready to help families and businesses relocate with confidence.
We organize interstate moves at a flat rate with no surprise charges. Our professional movers handle all the planning, heavy lifting, and logistics — so you don’t have to worry about the details. Just check out our verified 5-star reviews on Google, Yelp, and our own website. We’re also certified by the FMCSA (USDOT #4224986), which means you’re working with an experienced and trustworthy moving company.
Most moves from Washington, DC to Philadelphia take just one day. Whether you’re moving into a rowhome in South Philly, an apartment near Center City, or a suburban house on the Main Line, we’ll get you there smoothly and on schedule.
Insurance 🔒: Every move includes basic insurance at no extra cost.
Our movers know the I-95 corridor inside and out. We plan around traffic near Baltimore and Wilmington, handle toll routes efficiently, and time your delivery to avoid rush hour delays around Center City. In DC, we’re used to tight parking near Capitol Hill and Dupont Circle. In Philadelphia, we’re pros at maneuvering furniture into historic rowhomes or arranging a Certificate of Insurance (COI) if your building requires it.
We don’t just stop in Philadelphia either — our long-distance crews also help families move to surrounding areas like Cherry Hill (NJ), King of Prussia, Chestnut Hill, and the Main Line suburbs.
Every move is led by a crew foreman with at least three years of long-distance moving experience. Our teams are background-checked, fully trained, and equipped with the right tools to handle bulky, heavy, or fragile items. Trucks are outfitted with professional moving gear — blankets, straps, dollies, and protective wrapping — so your belongings stay safe from DC to Philly.
We customize each move to fit your needs. Want a dedicated truck for your household? Need to save on costs with a shared truck option? Only moving furniture? We’ll match the right crew and equipment to your job. Full-service packing is also available if you’d rather not spend weeks wrapping dishes and electronics.
Large furniture is never an obstacle. We disassemble bulky pieces to ensure safe transport and reassemble them in your new space so you can start enjoying your home right away. If packing feels overwhelming, we’ve got you covered there too. Using either our own high-quality supplies or materials you provide, we wrap and secure every item, from glassware to electronics, to withstand the long drive without risk of damage.
We also understand that long-distance moves often call for extra flexibility. That’s why we offer both short-term and long-term storage solutions. Whether you need a temporary place for your belongings during a lease transition or climate-controlled, secure storage for items you won’t need immediately — such as furniture, holiday decorations, or family keepsakes — we’ll make sure your possessions are safe and accessible when you need them.
For long-distance moves like DC to Philadelphia, we provide a flat-rate moving estimate based on distance, crew size, and services. The price won’t change because of a few stairs, traffic, or short detours. The only exceptions are extremely heavy items like pianos or oversized appliances.
A small deposit secures your moving date. If you cancel at least two weeks in advance, we’ll refund it in full. Learn more about our moving prices here.
