Loading & Unloading
Our movers handle all loading and unloading and bring the necessary equipment. Belongings are placed in the agreed locations.
Thinking of packing up in Philadelphia and setting your sights on Chicago? Here’s the truth of it: WellKnown Moving Company doesn’t whisper about promises—it delivers them. Flat rates mean no creeping surprises on the invoice, no sly add-ons waiting at the end of the journey. Moves of this scale? Two, maybe three days, the trucks chewing through I-76, I-80, I-90, highways. Crews arrive trained, certified, FMCSA-stamped; they’ve done this before, hefting refrigerators, coaxing couches through stairwells, signing Certificates of Insurance. We know Chicago —the quirks of Center City high-rises, the strict rules in downtown Chicago towers—and we’re ready with freight elevator reservations before you even ask. And don’t think it ends at Chicago’s edge; Naperville, Evanston, Oak Park—the suburbs hum with our wheels, too. Insurance? Thats in, no extra charge.
Every move has a crew leader who has done long-distance moves for at least three years. Our team is trained, background-checked, and knows how to load and unload everything safely. We bring the right tools to move big, heavy, or breakable items. Our trucks also come with gear made to protect special items the whole way.
We’ll contact you before the move to talk about what you’re bringing, what needs to be packed, and any special instructions for their storage and transportation. Based on that, we’ll pick the right team and bring all the equipment needed. You can also ask for extra services—like moving only furniture or using a shared truck to save on cost.
We charge a set price for the move. A few extra stairs or a short detour won’t change the cost. The only things that might cost more are very heavy or tricky items like large fridges or pianos. To book your date, we ask for a deposit. If you cancel at least two weeks before your move, we’ll return it. Learn more about our prices here.
💡 Moving Tip: In Chicago, check with your new building about parking permits and elevator reservations—it can help things go more smoothly on moving day.
Chicago is the third-largest city in the U.S. and a hub for finance, healthcare, education, and technology. It’s home to world-famous spots like Millennium Park, Navy Pier, and the Art Institute of Chicago. Sports fans can cheer for the Cubs, White Sox, Bears, and Bulls, while food lovers can enjoy deep-dish pizza, Chicago-style hot dogs, and a diverse dining scene.
Of course, big cities have downsides too. Winters can be cold and windy, and traffic on the Kennedy and Eisenhower Expressways can be tough. But compared to Philadelphia, Chicago often offers more neighborhood variety and a lower cost of living in many areas. Suburbs like Schaumburg, Skokie, and Downers Grove are great if you want more space and good schools while staying close to the city
